The Fells

On Sunday I went with a group of SP residents to walk in the Middlesex Fells reservation. This is a nice national park (or state park, or something equivalent enough) reasonably close to the city of Boston (it's at the end of the subway: the commuter rail is not necessary to reach it). We had a lovely walk. The ground was thickly (by my standards) covered with snow, but it was quite easy to walk on, and didn't soak through my shoes or otherwise annoy me. It did make the scenery a little monotonous to my eyes: I guess someone used to northern winters would have a similar opinion of much of the dry area of Australia.
