A top ten

I haven't progressed quite as quickly as I expected with my postdoc applications. The list of completed applications stuck to my pinboard still only has two schools on it, though I've made some informal enquiries at a couple of others.

But I do have a current top ten list, of places I will investigate first. Here they are, grouped by region.

USA

A) Illinois
B) Syracuse
C) Chicago
D) Michigan
E) Virginia Tech
F) Santa Barbara
G) Brandeis

 

Europe

A) Edinburgh

B) ESPCI or Ecole Normale Superieure (so close they're indistinguishable on a map of this scale)

 

If any of these ten will take me, I'll probably end up at one of these ten. But who knows if that will be the case? It may be that I will have to keep looking. Only time will tell.
